books, bikes and so on

I saw this shelfari application on Travis' blog and thought it would be an easy way to show what I'm reading. After I put it up I remebered these lyrics from the Modest Mouse song Education.

Hardly education
All them books I didn't read
They just sat there on my shelf
Looking much smarter than me

Bickle had a good post today and I am in total agreement. Although I have been in progress it is time to step up the discipline to another level, especially physically. Thanks for the inspiration, dude.

As you can see I am reading The Brothers Karamazov and I am really enjoying it. It might be another month before I finish, it's quite the undertaking so I am just enjoying the ride rather than scanning the horizon for the finish line.

My bike shop days appear to be over. December and January aren't the best months for selling and repairing bikes. It was a great job and I learned some valuable skills as I plan to ride as much as I can in the new year. I was also able to build my brother a new bike for Christmas with my new bike knowledge, it was a fun experience. I talked to a farmer in Johnstown and it looks somewhat promising that I can start helping him in February with greenhouse planting and maple syrup collection.

As I am now unemployed, once again, I plan to post more and be more involved on your blogs too (when Emma gives me the opportunity).

Good to know. Maybe if your brother would quit coming to Columbus without you - we could have a pipe smoke in the underground (that is how we initiate new men into the non-violent fight club).

do it.
