bows rain in head radio

Wednesday night I couldn't sleep. I read until my eyes hurt so I decided to close my eyes and listen to my iPod. I scrolled to In Rainbows because I had yet to listen to it through headphones. I listened to three or four songs before I was overwhelmed.

I try not to make quick judgments on albums. I want to see if they stick with me and continue to draw me back. I continue to find more levels and complexities as I listen.

Beautiful.

sorry to bombard your radiohead post with irrelevant comments...but our squash and cucumber plants, all over franklinton, have withered because of squash bugs (presently in my backyard). they are rampant. have you had such problems?

about a month ago i found that the inside of all of the squash blossoms contained swarms of yellow and black striped cucumber beetles. i had 18 acorn and sunshine winter squash plants and about 10 cucumber plants. now only one acorn squash is left.

how was the concert?

i was planning on coming down on friday but we have a family wedding in cleveland. the next friday is emma's birthday so that is out too. maybe i will try a weekday...i'll let you know.

weekdays actually work out well, if you get the chance.

the concert was excellent. because we took Francis, we hung back in the lawn, by the trees, which was nice - but a different experience, of course. Radiohead was fluid and consistent, and full of energy.

jonny greenwood is the most fun to watch. all the electronic sounds come from him, not a laptop - so he is always picking up some weird box with knobs, creating familiar sounds, and then looping them or something. then jamming out on some other instrument. it's great to watch. the light show was good too.

you would have been most excited to know that their concert t-shirts were made from recycled materials, including plastic bottles, found in land-fills. you would not have been happy about the prices though.

i still bought one, of course.
